Enterprise Adviser Network
The London Enterprise Adviser Network is a fully funded programme that helps to prepare young people aged 5-18 for the world of work, by connecting businesses with London schools.
Enterprise Advisers are business volunteers working in senior roles. They work with careers leaders in schools to increase business engagement, so that more young people are encountering employers, helping to ensure this is part of a structured programme that addresses the needs of all students. They also help schools to access local careers resources, and help businesses link up with schools.
The aim is to ensure that schools are connected to businesses and providers in their local areas, and that young people are aware of all the pathways available to them and that they are equipped with the skills needed to fulfil their potential.
Team London and Mayor’s Fund for London are funded by the Careers & Enterprise Company, Central London Forward, and City Bridge Trust, the City of London Corporation’s charity to deliver the London Enterprise Adviser Network on behalf of the LEAP.
On 6 June 2018 the Mayor announced the expansion of the London Enterprise Adviser Network to support state secondary schools, Pupil Referral Units and Further Education Colleges in every London borough.
London is one of the world’s leading economic centres, while also being a hotbed for innovation, creativity and design. This means there are tens of thousands of exciting job opportunities for young Londoners. The expanded London Enterprise Adviser Network will connect even more schools with London’s employers. This will help to ensure that all young Londoners can build the networks they need to lead successful and fulfilling lives.
Matthew Ryder, Deputy Mayor for Social Integration, Social Mobility and Community Engagement.
We’re also excited to be working with Coast to Capital to grow the Enterprise Adviser Network in Croydon. The collaboration between the two local enterprise partnerships will ensure Croydon’s secondary schools, colleges and young people are better connected to both local and pan-London careers and employer engagement opportunities.
